HERITAGE TRUST

MTB 102

MTB 102 was laid down at the end of 1936 at Vosper's Camber Yard in Portsmouth as a private venture and became the prototype of the WW2 MTB.  She was at the time the fastest vessel in the Navy having achieved 47.8 knots on initial trials.

Commanded by Lt Dreyer, she was present at Dunkirk, and for the last days of this rescue was the flagship of Admiral Wake-Walker.  Later she carried both Winston Churchill and General Eisenhower as they reviewed the D Day invasion fleet.

More recently she appeared in the film "The Eagle Has Landed".  She is in the care of the MTB 102 Trust and, still seaworthy, appears at both international and national events including the annual reunion of the Dunkirk Little Ships.
