HOW TO MAKE YOUR HELP LIVE ON PLEASE REMEMBER 'THE COASTAL FORCES HERITAGE TRUST' IN YOUR WILL Making a Will ensures that your estate is distributed exactly as you wish, by benefiting those individuals and causes you wish to help. If you die without making a Will this may not be the case. The first and most important step in making a Will is to seek the professional advice of a solicitor. This will ensure that your Will is valid and that it reflects your wishes exactly. When you make your Will, please remember the Coastal Forces Heritage Trust. If you already have a will and wish to leave a legacy to the Trust, all you need to do is to make a small addition to your Will called a "codicil". The codicil should be carefully drafted, signed and witnessed in the same way as your original Will and should be kept with your will (but not attached). When preparing a Will or Codicil the following wording may be helpful: · A BEQUEST FOR A FIXED SUM I give and bequeath the sum of £ ……… free of all inheritance tax to The Coastal Forces Heritage Trust, of The Royal Naval Museum, HM Naval Base, PORTSMOUTH, PO1 3NH and I direct that the receipt of the Trust Secretary or other proper officer for the time being of the said Coastal Forces Heritage Trust shall be full and sufficient discharge for the same. · A BEQUEST FOR THE RESIDUE OF AN ESTATE I give and bequeath to The Coastal Forces Heritage Trust of The Royal Naval Museum, HM Naval Base, PORTSMOUTH, PO1 3NH all (or a fraction of) the residue of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever, and I direct that the receipt of the Trust Secretary or other proper officer for the time being of the said Coastal Forces Heritage Trust shall be full and sufficient discharge for the same. Your legacy will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you will play a part in the furtherance of the objects of the Trust to inform the public of the achievements of Coastal Forces and setting up a fitting memorial for those who fought and those who died. |
