Radar is an invaluable navigation aid but only if you know how to use it. This course will take you right from the basics to using the radar for collision avoidance and pilotage.
The course is taught on board Trinity Star which is equipped with the latest Raymarine radar as well as computer simulators.
The course covers:
Basic principles
What radar will see
Setting up the radar for best performance
Position fixing
Anti collision
Pilotage
The final part of the course is a passage from Torbay to Dartmouth on the simulator. This includes some chartwork so its worth bringing your dividers and plotter (we have some on board but you may wish to use your own).
The course includes a course book and we can aim the course at whatever level you wish from basic to professional.
